"Well..." she stirred the pot again and checked on the chicken making sure it was cooking nicely. Content that it was, she started slicing up tomatoes to add to the pan she had simmering beside the boiling noodles. "I'm kinda winging it..." she replied as she watched the vegetables sizzle nicely in the pan, moving it evenly over the burner. "But it's similar to chicken Parmasean, but I sort of cut corners here with the ingredients. When I was in home school- no... that's not the right word..." she fell silent thinking hard. "Boarding-school! I was in boarding-school, I took a class of cooking and sewing. It was required."

"Oh," he said. He couldn't remember if he liked chicken parmesean or not. He thought he did, but he couldn't remember. He couldn't even really remember if he actually had it before. "Is it any good?" he asked her. Just to be sure.

"I hope so..." she replied thoughtfully. "I'm kinda trying a new recipe... but usually it's good..." she added with a bit more confidence. "At least...l I got a B plus when I made it for class. Sorry it wasn't any higher, but I'm not like super good at this kinda thing."

Marik shrugged indifferently. "I don't care. I just care if it's good or not." He tilted his head. "Cuz, if it wasn't good, then I wouldn't be able to eat it and such... And then I'd have to find something else to eat. Which would suck and all."

"Let's just say I hope it's good." She stood on her toes peering over the pot trying to see her progress. She was a small elfish looking girl, small angular face, pointed features, the mismatched coloring of her eyes was a bit jarring when magnified by the thick rectangular glasses lenses. It was hard to place her age, anywhere from her late teens to early adult hood, but her upbeat attitude seemed to be her most prominent feature.

"I hope so, too," Marik said unnecessarily. He looked around, growing a little bored just sitting there talking. He got up and started to wander around the kitchen, just looking at random areas of it. He wandered over to the refridgerator to look around in there as well. "It's so borrrringg here," he said, mostly to himself.

"Sorry, I guess I'm not that interesting...." she bit her lip. "Here!" she cheered up instantly. "Try this! Tell me what you think!" she offered him the spoon still dripping with marinara. "Careful though it's super hot!"

Senji had since preoccupied himself with toying around with the salt and pepper shakers, mostly just observing the detail along the glass bottles before hearing the 'bored comment.' He had sat and listened to most of the conversation and wasn't really sure where that came from but thought it was funny Gwen just stuck to cheering herself up with testing the meal. "Heh, smells good over there." Glancing at the clock he scoffed a bit. He had since excused himself from his bedroom to go and grab a bite to eat, and did in fact get a good few bits of the peanutbutter jerky he always created, but damnit now it was time to go train Ganta in the room. He must have misread the time...man he wanted to eat! "Say Gwen would you do a guy a favor? Could I bother you to save me a little in the fridge? I gotta go help train one of the deadmen here and I kinda gave him my word....you'd be my best friend." He chuckled a little and rubbed the back of his head, hoping she wouldn't mind. He was hungry but he couldn't just stand the kid up.

"O-oh, um... you're leaving...?" she looked a bit saddened by this realization standing awkwardly nearly pigeon-toed her bare feet pointed inward. "I... I'm almost done though, can't you invite your friend, I made lots...." her voice was considerably more dejected but she kept the chipperness in her expression. "And training on an empty might be ineffective..."

Marik looked over at her and started to wander back over to her when Senji spoke back up. He wandered a little closer and stood near Gwen while the two talked. He hoped she was still offering the spoon to him. It looked and smelled wonderful, and he bet it tasted just as good.

"Oh, here..." she held the spoon back up looking a bit unsure of herself now that one person was bored and the other was trying to leave. She just wanted to try to do something nice in this shiny cage.

He looked at the spoon for a moment before leaning over to take a bite. He moved back after he took it and seemed to think on it as he chewed and swallowed, his face scrunching up a little in thought. His face brightened up. "Wow, that really was good."

"Yay!" her whole face lit up at the compliment! "Thank you so much! To be honest I was really nervous since I had to get creative with the ingredients." She cheered happily as she started getting plates out.

Marik nodded as he sat down in the stool beside her again, seeming once again interested with the situation and such. "Is it done?" he asked her, since she was already getting out the plates. After all, if someone was getting out plates for food, didn't that signify the food in question was done, and ready to eat? He at least thought so. He couldn't imagine seeing anyone else doing that. What would be the point of getting out plates and such if the food was no where done?

"Almost ready." She started placing plates on the counter, opening the oven pulling out the chicken now cooked nicely, the bread crumbs crispy and brown. "Just gotta put on the finishing touches." She pulled the pan out careful to use an oven mit so as not to burn her hands. She placed the burning pan on the counter and carefully poured the sizzling sauce Marik had tried over the chicken. She went back to the fridge pulling out some cheese and grating it over the top so the little strings of white fell over the red sauce like snow on lava. "It's still really hot."
