He blinked and glanced down at his food choice, but smirked slightly, raising a brow. "Well hey if you're offering heh, I'll take a ladies cooking any day." Hell he could go for something nice, he had just gotten so used to eating small amounts of thick food and keeping himself full, so he never thought about big homecooked meals. Putting the lid back on the peanut butter and mouthing the last of it off of the spoon he put the items away and took a seat on a stool in the corner of the room. "Whatcha got in mind?"

Marik went snooping around and found a few snacks and of course the ice cream. He eyed the crackers and the ice cream tub for a moment. This was what she wanted, right? He wasn't sure, but he supposed so. He looked back at her and saw her talking to some other guy with an eye patch. He didn't want to disturb, but she did ask for him to get her something, so it should be alright. He grabbed the tub and a package of crackers before making his way back over to her.
"... This is what you want, right?" he asked her.

"Hmmmm..." she looked around opening cabinate trying to see what she to work with. "How about a chicken Parmesan dish with a side of... these Japanese noodles?" She shifted through pulling out ingredients. "I can make do with this stuff. I'll just finish my painting later."

"Huh?" She blinked hearing the other guy speak up. "Right!" She was all ready preparing the breading for the other food. "Ummm... no... that's not exactly what it is but I think that icecream will go great with this for desert!" She added optimistically. "Stay for dinner or lunch or whatever I'm cooking!"

Marik frowned at her when the ice cream wasn't it. Then just what the heck was vanilla extract? Maybe she just lied about it, though he wasn't sure why she would since they never met before and he obviously couldn't have done anything to her to make her want to get back at him or something. Maybe that stuff didn't even exist, since he'd never heard of it before. Well, he didn't think he did. He couldn't remember.
When she offered food, he looked down at his crackers before shrugging. "Okay." She didn't seem to be mean... So he'd give her a chance.

"Great!" This wad going to be a real party. Perhaps that was just the thing this jail needed to lighten the mood. If it stayed this dreary she would be seeing monsters trying to feed on the bad ideas. "Is vanilla extract not a Japanese thing? Sorry if I confused you."

Marik scrunched up his face a little as he took a seat near her like Senji. "I wouldn't know if it was or not. What is it anyway? ... Did you make it up?" he asked her a little suspiciously. "The only things vanilla is ice cream and cake and like... Coke Cola... and stuff."

"No no," she giggled. "It's a little bottle usually clear... kinda brownish. It's used to add flavor to things like frosting! I wanted it for my painting so it would smell nice. But we may not have any here." She finished the breading and started pre-heating the oven. "What's your name?' she asked brightly.

"Oh..." he murmured. "I'd never heard of it... At least I don't think I have..." He thought on that for a moment and shook his head. "Nope, never have." He watched her work on the bread and stick it in the oven. "I'm Marik," he told her.

"Marik!" She repeated his name as she checked the oven temperature. "I'm Gwenivere. But I go by Gwen." She turned on one of the stove tops and started boiling water.

Senji had sat back through most of the conversation, mostly observing at this point. The dinner sounded fantastic. He hadn't had something like that in years it seemed. Finishing off the first beer, he tossed the bottle in the garbage and settled back onto the stool in the corner of the room. So...the two were Gwen and Marik eh? That....Marik person sounded a little....off....what was the deal there he wondered. Vanilla icecream? Really? Oh boy this was mind blowing. "Hang on, Gwen then, you paint? That's not too common anymore. You any good?"

She thought about it got a second bet pause both considering her answer andtranslating the question itself. "I'm okay I suppose. I just do it to brighten the world a little and boy did this place need some color." She poured in the noodles stirring the pot with a big wooden spoon and she started the marinade. "I've got lots of pictures for my room if you guys ever want something to make the room more colorful I can paint you one too."

Marik fell silent and listened to the two talk for a moment. "I knew someone who was an artist," Marik finally spoke up after a moment. "But all he did was talk and go on about it and how everything was so preeettyyy in his eyes and such," he said, strangely enunciating the words for no particular reason. He narrowed his eyes on her a little. "Yoouu don't do that, do you?"

"If the world were always pretty then I would have no reason to paint." she said simply enough, her words not too complex else she'd get tongue tied on the syllabic language she was trying to speak. "I like to try to brighten it up, my world can be pretty but everyone else's seems miserable..." She stirred the pot again adding some seasoning to it. "Especially here."

He listened to her and nodded. "That sounds better than what he said. I always thought he was kinda dumb, but I stayed with him anyway," he said, shrugging. "What are you making again?"
