What Deadman Wonderland RP would be complete without a bit of bloodthirsty competition in the Carnival Corpse, eh? We offer a unique feature that actually pits deadman against deadman. The winner receives candy and a fair sum of CP for victory And the loser must participate in the Punishment Game.
Rules
1. Participants are selected by taking the aliases of all Deadmen characters and randomly generating two of them in a virtual hat-draw. If a Deadman has participated in the Carnival Corpse he is exempt from the next couple of contests. A mass notification will be sent out to all members about who is participating in the event.
2. Once the notifications have been sent out, the selected combatants have 5 days to post a story detailing the fight between their character and their character's opponents. Note: This is not a roleplay. We want short stories to be submitted. Take as long of a post as you need to in order to complete the story. Failure to submit your story in those five days or to notify an Administrator about an inability to participate will result in heavy consequences.
3. After both parties have submitted their stories, it is to be reviewed by the Admin. (if it is an Admin that is participating in the contest, they are of course not allowed to judge.) They will receive points in certain categories from each Admin that judges and the one with the highest total amount of points wins the contest.
4. The winner will have the candy and CP added to their totals and the loser must contact someone in the Admin. to negotiate what they're willing to lose in the Punishment Game. The loser must then RP with an Admin in the Punishment Game thread.
These are the criteria that each story will be rated on a 1-10 scale based on performance:
Quality: (Post length plays a minor roll in this, but it is primarily based on other things like proper spelling and grammar. This is where we consider all of the technical aspects of the piece.)
Clarity: (Fight scenes can get pretty hectic and you have to be very specific in describing what movements each character is making in order to make a coherent fight. Can we easily identify who is doing what? Can we make a good mental image of the fight? Or is it hard to tell what someone is doing?)
Vocabulary: (How well are things described? Do you use a lot of detail, or do you use the same five words to describe everything? A good variety of specific words can help paint a picture in the readers' minds. There are certain subtleties between words that mean similar things. Were they mad? Furious? Seething? Each one had a slightly different meaning.)
Realism: (This takes into consideration things that might be easily overlooked in a story, but would most definitely be present in reality. Does your character use a ranged attack? Do they feel the effects of blood loss? do they get worn out in a fight? Are they gripped with pain and yet still somehow find a way to bear through to the end?)
Originality: (It's easy to write a generic piece with your character winning. But this category gives more points to those that go above and beyond and put more time into planning their story. Conversation between the characters, especially when you do a good job adhering to the other character's personality, an underdog's tail, a surprise twist, using your environment to your advantage will all earn your more points here.)
*Note: We are willing to discuss what body parts will be lost during the Punishment game, but do try to keep an open mind. This IS Deadman wonderland. And losing body parts is just another part of life to them. Crow lost an eye right off the bat, and did he bitch? No. He got over it and moved on with his life, continuing to be a badass. Take a lesson from Crow. Don't be a pansy.
